Henry Hotel:
Located
at 206 West Broad Street, the Henry Hotel
was completed March, 1933 and is one of
only four known commercial buildings in
the United States built in the Tudor-style
of architecture and is built on the original
site of the first law office of Governor
James Hogg.
Designed by architect Henry Alsop, Tyler,
the Tudor-style is rare for a commercial
building with the only other known commercial
buildings built in this style located in
Lubbock, Dallas and Denver. The Henry Hotel
was built by Carl Little of Mineola. Little
was a well respected builder who built a
number of fine homes on Broad Street in
1937 in the same Tudor styling and detailing
as the hotel.
Current renovations are underway to restore
and maintain the integrity of the Henry
Hotel for the future of Mineola. The new
renovations will include a sports care,
spa, antique store and an interior design
company, just to name a few. We hope that
you will visit one of the many fine establishments
in the Henry Hotel on your visit to Mineola.
